Galloway Ave. Baptist is a church where:
- Bible teaching is true to the text and relevant for our time
- Worship is never confused for entertainment
- The church body is family, not just acquaintances
- The focus is on people and not programs
On Sunday morning at 9:30am we come together for an hour for our Bible Study groups, in which we learn about God’s Word and its application to all areas of life. Attendance for this hour is between 100-115 people. We begin our Sunday morning service directly following this at 10:45am. As we find our seats in the worship center, we sing songs to prepare our hearts for the message from God’s word.
What to Expect
You will find a great mix of all ages. People are friendly, and will make you feel like one of the family. Dress trends toward business-casual, though you can find anything from jeans to suits.
We strongly believe that our music should unify us rather than separate us. Therefore, all of our services are a blend of the old and new. We love the doctrinally rich, gospel-saturated hymns of the past as well as the modern hymns. We also love the Christ-centered, God-honoring contemporary choruses. Furthermore, we believe that our songs should teach. We emphasize congregational singing, which allows the gathered body to sing praise to God with one voice.
Children ages four and above attend the worship service with their parents. Parents have the option of allowing children from age 4 through 3rd grade to leave after the singing to attend Mission Friends or remain in the service with them. We provide loving child-care for children under the age of four.
Sunday Evening Prayer Meeting – Bible Study
Our evening worship combines singing, reading God’s Word, sharing and prayer. We come together at 6:00 p.m. in room 10. After our pastor leads us in a prayer, we have a brief Bible study. Then we share matters for prayer from both our corporate and individual lives, including focused prayer for our missionaries.
Our associate pastor, Chuck Grandstaff, leads the Wednesday evening meetings in room 10 at 7 pm. Our goal in Wednesday night Bible study is not simply to learn from the evening’s text but to learn how to study the Bible in our private devotions and apply it to our personal lives.
Our children gather on Wednesday nights for (Praise Factory) at 7:00 p.m.
The youth meet for Bible study at 7:00 p.m. in the youth room
